Originally edited under the supervision of Mary C. Austin, Ed.D. of Harvard University and tested with the Spache Readability Formula to ensure clarity and accessibility, these books were crafted with exceptional educational care. Each biography moves briskly without sacrificing accuracy, pairing an inviting narrative with more than twenty full-color illustrations that help young readers step into the world of the subject.
Although many of the original titles are not available for reprint, more than a dozen are, and we are committed to bringing every one of those back into circulation. Our aim is to preserve the integrity and charm of this series so a new generation of children can enjoy these thoughtfully written introductions to explorers, inventors, leaders, and other figures who shaped history.
