"The "three boys books" are an interesting collaboration between two writers. Mrs. Agle lives in Baltimore and is on the teaching staff of the Baltimore Museum of Art. Mrs. Wilson, a former teacher, who has worked in a bookshop, lives in Indiana. She teaches a course in the history of children's literature at Indiana University. Mrs. Agle is the mother of two boys and Mrs. Wilson of three, including twins. It was for the five boys that the first story was written. Since then "Abercrombie, Benjamin, and Christopher" have made many friends all over the country." - From the back dust jacket flap of the original book
